Case Study – ITU Refurbishment

Client: UCLH NHS Foundation Trust

This project involved the refurbishment of the ITU area and the associated support works i.e. doctors room, relatives room, storage facilities and nurses tea area.

We were appointed on this scheme as both Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.

The fundamental aim of this scheme was to provide two additional ITU bed spaces and vastly improve storage within the existing 1st floor footprint whilst not closing any beds, unduly disrupting service provisions or causing any infection control issues. The working area was located adjacent to four operating theatres on one side and a HDU area on the other, extreme planning was required to deliver this project in 6 phases. The scheme was delivered to time and budget.
